About Mighty Earth:

Mighty Earth is a global advocacy organization working to defend a living planet. We are obsessed with impact: Our goal is to protect half of Earth for Nature and secure a climate that allows life to flourish. Through our “perfect storm” model of driving change, we have played a leading role in persuading the world’s largest food and agriculture companies to act against deforestation, land-grabbing, and human rights abuse, driven multi-billion-dollar shifts to clean energy, and helped catalyze major, and helped catalyze major decarbonization commitments.

Mighty Earth has made significant progress in our efforts to achieve transformative and systemic change. Mighty Earth uses data and technology to reveal critical threats to Nature, climate, and communities and mobilizes program teams to drive solutions through multifaceted campaigns and policy. Mighty Earth targets CEOs and policymakers with fact-based practical solutions while holding them to account on climate and nature pledges. By deploying global campaigns, Mighty Earth raises visibility and gains necessary commitments to reverse environmental destruction. Mighty Earth fights for the rights of Indigenous communities and local populations on the frontline, threatened by industrial corporations. By collaborating and coordinating Mighty Earth creates global pressure and achieves unprecedented victories.

To ensure continued success and a greater impact, we wish to evaluate our organization and the work, identify opportunities for improvement, and put that learning into practice.

Proposal Requirements:

Mighty Earth seeks firm or individual consultants to develop and design a monitoring, evaluation, and learning plan and analysis framework to evaluate Mighty Earth’s impact. The project should include data collection, monitoring, and analysis of the organization and our programs, followed by a comprehensive report. The evaluation is expected to recommend systems, processes, and approaches that Mighty Earth could put in place to maximize our effectiveness. The evaluation will assist Mighty Earth in developing further work plans and provide information for the organization’s management, staff, Board of Directors, supporters and other stakeholders. The project should include our palm oil, rubber, cocoa, protein, and heavy industry campaigns as well as the organizational elements that support our campaigns.

The Evaluation Will

· Assess the effectiveness of our program

· Identify the most significant changes that occurred because of our program activities.

· Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the program and provide recommendations for areas of improvement.

· Formulate lessons learned from the program’s implementation and recommendations to improve the design and delivery of future campaigns.

· Identify success stories and clearly describe the role of the project activities and partners.

· Analyze our overall operations to suggest additional ways to maximize impact.

Time frame:

We would like the project completed by the end of April 2023.

Contact: Please contact Cindy Schwartz ([email protected]) if you have questions and to submit a proposal. Please also notify her if you are planning to submit a proposal. Proposals must be submitted by Friday, November 19, 2022, by close of business; we anticipate finalizing our decision by December 10. Mighty Earth will evaluate proposals based on the following factors: budgetary feasibility, vendor’s experience and success in similar ventures, and vendor’s knowledge.
