Javon Averett is a Senior Manager of Operations at Mighty Earth, where he directs our internal and external operations. He is strategic operationist with a strong track record of spearheading multilateral and hyper-local projects working across industries. His most cherished role was in the U.S. Senate, where he collaborated with stakeholders to increase federally-funded resources for underserved communities. Javon has worked with a number of foundations, philanthropists, civil societies, and government agencies on a myriad of issues such as the right to vote, climate, clean jobs, and electric vehicles. In 2020, he was a part of Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote, which aimed to close the race and age voting gap and increase election participation by changing the culture around voting. Before joining Mighty Earth, Javon advised executives on climate-related initiatives as a Program Associate at Blue Crab Strategies, using his extensive experience in project management and strategic processes. Javon has built a career on impact, with a wealth of expertise in campaigns, operations, and program activations in different cultures and settings.

He received a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a BA in Healthcare Management from the University of South Alabama. Javon now calls Alexandria, Virginia home.
