Martin Caldwell

Digital Director

Martin Caldwell is the Digital Director at Mighty Earth, where he responsible for Mighty Earth’s digital operations and campaigns. Martin is passionate about using digital campaigning and advocacy to lower barriers to participation, and help win campaigns.

Prior to joining Mighty Earth, Martin has worked for some of world’s leading digital-first campaigning and advocacy organisations. Martin has worked for 350.org, a leading digital-first climate change group, where he supported digital campaigners around the world to run their own digital campaigns.

He worked for Avaaz, the world’s biggest digital first advocacy group with over 40 million supporters around the world, where he worked on an innovative crowd-sourced research and campaign project into social media disinformation.

He has also worked for WeMove.EU – the pan-European digital campaigning group focusing on EU and Europe-wide campaigns, where he led the organisation’s English language campaigns – including doubling the English language mailing list.

In addition, he’s worked for SumOfUs, a global corporate accountability digital campaigning organisation where he doubled the UK supporter list, established the organisation in the United Kingdom working alongside partners such as the TUC. At SumOfUs, Martin developed skills in online fundraising, writing for digital audiences, growth and engagement tactics and managing social media communications.

Finally, for the UK’s largest digital first organisation 38 Degrees. While at 38 Degrees Martin worked on day-to-day management of their user-generated community petitions platform Campaigns by You, and also worked on their ground-breaking forests campaign – helping establish 38 Degrees and digital campaigning in the UK.

Martin is originally from the UK, but lives in Berlin, Germany. Outside of work he is a regular gym-goer, likes to get out of Berlin to explore, and loves the Eurovision Song Contest! He holds a BA (Hons) Politics from the Queen Mary, University of London.
