Margaret Kran-Annexstein

Campaign Director

As a Campaign Director at Mighty Earth, Margaret Kran-Annexstein develops and manages advocacy, communications, and field campaigns for Mighty Earth’s forests and oceans program areas in order to pressure companies to clean up supply chains and advocate for sustainable policy. In this role, Margaret leads negotiations with corporate executives, coordinates with coalition partners in the US and internationally, and oversees advocacy initiatives to advance campaign goals. Margaret also sits on the Executive Committee for the Global Platform on Sustainable Natural Rubber.

Prior to Mighty, Margaret was an Assistant Organizing Director at Green Corps, the field school for environmental organizing. In this role, Margaret provided training and support to Green Corps organizers, while managing strategic field campaigns on behalf of national partner organizations. While at Green Corps, she supervised campaigns on issues spanning from stopping the overuse of antibiotics in factory farms to protecting wilderness in the U.S. to stopping forest destruction in the Amazon. She also has a background in fundraising, staff recruitment, and training development.

Margaret’s passion for environmental campaigning was solidified as field organizer on the Forest Heroes Campaign in Battle Creek, Michigan, where the grassroots and media pressure she built helped convince both Kellogg’s and their palm oil supplier, Wilmar, adopt a no deforestation, no exploitation palm oil policy.

Margaret is a graduate of American University with a degree in International Studies.
