Henry Waxman




Representative Henry A. Waxman is the Chairman of Mighty, where he continues his decades-long leadership for environmental protection. Previously, Henry spent 40 years serving in the House of Representatives. He served as Chairman and Ranking Member of the Energy & Commerce Committee and Committee on Oversight & Government Reform. President Obama described him as “one of the most effective legislators of his era, or any era.” Henry was the author of the 1990 Clean Air Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and multiple laws to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect children from toxic pollution, as well as an array of health care and government reforms.

Henry’s legislative work and tenacity has earned him recognition as “one of the most accomplished legislators of our time” by Washington Post columnist Harold Meyerson and “tougher than a boiled owl” by Senator Alan Simpson.
