Heather Weiss

Senior Associate



Heather is a Senior Associate for Mighty Earth working primarily to stop deforestation, environmental degradation, and human rights abuses in the rubber supply chain. She examines labor and human rights concerns, as well as environmental and deforestation issues. Heather conducts corporate and supply chain research as well as examining corporate and government sustainability policies. She played a pivotal role in the research and publication of Mighty Earth reports A Bridge Too Far? and Restoration & Reparations which examine Firestone’s Liberia plantation and Hevecam’s Cameroonian plantation respectively. Particularly interested in human rights, she has also supported work identifying hotspots and campaign needs in our oceans work.
Previously, Heather has worked as an environmental educator and has worked with The Westly Group, a low carbon economy focused venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, where she focused on market research and green industry trends. Heather graduated with distinction from University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Global Studies and Environmental Studies.
