Gemma Hoskins

Gemma Hoskins is Mighty Earth’s UK Director, with responsibility to build and lead our UK campaign to persuade corporations, financial institutions, and government officials to implement strong environmental and human rights policies. Gemma is passionate about building the environmental movement to be inclusive, effective and creative.

Prior to joining Mighty Earth, Gemma has worked delivering environmental projects and programmes in a variety of leading organisations, most recently as Head of Outreach at Greenpeace UK, delivering local campaigning and building a grassroot community of over 4000 activists with responsibility for political lobbying, media outputs and creative direct action taking.

Gemma has also worked leading campaigns at Amnesty International UK as well as leading the international programme for The Scout Association, inspiring young people to take action for the climate and the inception of a global citizenship programme. Gemma worked for VSO for many years, working to deliver volunteers to specialist programmes and managing secure livelihoods programmes across Latin America. She has lived in Thailand and Costa Rica, supporting projects in the field.

Gemma has a BSc (Hons) in environmental science and a PgD in international development practice and is a keen scuba diver and open water swimmer.
