As Senior Campaigns Director at Mighty, Rose Garr advocates for clean, sustainable bioenergy. Energy produced from plant and forest material should not drive land conversion and should be based on accurate, up-to-date assessments of carbon emissions. Rose has a deep background in environmental advocacy and grassroots organizing.

Rose’s passion for energy and climate-change issues spans a decade and a half. She has organized public support and lobbied on a number of domestic energy issues, including supporting Renewable Energy Standards at the state and national level, protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil and gas exploration, and opposing offshore drilling in Virginia. Rose’s work has mobilized tens of thousands of people to take action on pro-environment issues and has generated extensive news coverage, including coverage in The Washington Post, The Richmond Times-Dispatch, and The Roanoke Times, among others.

Prior to Mighty, Rose worked as a federal field organizer for the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, a state field organizer for Ohio PIRG, and a communications manager for the Consumer Federation of America.
