As a Campaign Director at Mighty Earth, Margaret Kran-Annexstein leads strategic development and field campaigns for Mighty’s forests and oceans program areas. She is a seasoned advocate with a background in grassroots organizing and campaign management.

Prior to Mighty, Margaret was an Assistant Organizing Director at Green Corps, the field school for environmental organizing. In this role, Margaret provided training and support to Green Corps organizers, while managing strategic field campaigns on behalf of national partner organizations. While at Green Corps, she supervised campaigns on issues spanning from stopping the overuse of antibiotics in factory farms to protecting wilderness in the U.S. to stopping forest destruction in the Amazon. She also has a strong background in fundraising, recruitment, and training development.

Margaret’s passion for environmental campaigning was solidified as an organizer on the Forest Heroes Campaign in Battle Creek, Michigan, where the grassroots pressure she built helped to make both Kellogg’s and their palm oil supplier, Wilmar, adopt a deforestation free palm oil policy.

Margaret is a graduate of American University with a degree in International Studies.
